The EducAItion 2026 Expo & Summit

The EducAItion event in Jerusalem brought two distinct needs into the same space: 30,000 educators and students engaging directly with AI technologies, and senior officials from 30 countries developing the shared principles that should govern those technologies in schools.

The Challenge

Navigating the AI transition in education requires engagement at every level of the system, and each level has a distinct need. Teachers and school leaders need direct encounter with the technologies: practical demonstration of what AI-enabled learning looks like, collaborative problem-solving, and exposure to the full range of what the transition makes possible. Policymakers and government officials see this multilateral process through a wider lens, with national systems having to agree on the principles that should govern AI in education, and then build the institutional cooperation to act on those principles together.

The Solution

The EducAItion event in Jerusalem, which took place in February 2026, was built around two co-located components: the Innovation Expo, giving educators, students, and the general public direct encounter with the full range of AI-in-education technologies; and the International Summit, which drew senior officials and education ministry representatives to develop shared principles and produce the Jerusalem Declaration, a formal multilateral commitment to human-centered AI in education.

The Framework

  • The national-scale exposition brought the Israeli educator community, students, and the public into direct engagement with the full landscape of AI-in-education technologies and practices.

    • 230 exhibitors; 30,000 visitors including educators, school principals, students, and local authority representatives
    • Hackathons for collaborative problem-solving alongside demonstrations and knowledge exchange sessions
    • Focus areas: personalized learning, special education, STEM and AI integration
  • Senior officials and education ministry representatives from 30 delegations convened in three parallel tracks, each producing a distinct output.

    • Ministers’ track: structured knowledge exchange and formal cooperation commitments between participating education systems
    • Expert track: government, industry, and academic specialists developing shared principles for responsible AI integration in education
    • Student track: Israeli and international students co-creating a vision of education adapted to the possibilities of AI
  • The formal output of the International Conference: an agreed set of principles for human-centered AI in education, signed by senior officials from 15 nations. This commitment includes:

    • Positioning human agency and student wellbeing as the governing principles for AI integration in education, agreed across 15 national systems
    • Committing participating systems to ongoing knowledge exchange and cooperative development of AI governance approaches
  • The Israeli conference served as a preparatory convening for the AI Summit in India held the same month. Following the Israeli event, an Israeli delegation traveled to India and signed broad bilateral cooperation agreements between the two national education systems.

What The Framework Makes Possible

The co-located format achieves what separate events cannot: a national educator community engaging directly with AI technologies generates the concrete experience that makes international governance discussions productive, while peer frameworks examined in the International Conference become more actionable for national implementation. The event established a standard for international educational partnerships: documented exchange of implementation experience and structured cooperation commitments.
